The Eberhart Lab

Research in the Eberhart group spans many conventional disciplines of chemistry. We are particularly interested in synthesis of species which are able to participate in photo-induced electron transfer reactions or act as catalysts. We are interested in understanding mechanistic details of photoinduced charge transfer processes and accompanying catalysis that can be used to capture energy from photons. We investigate these chemical processes using many techniques including synthesis, electrochemistry, transient absorption spectroscopy, synchrotron X-ray methods, and other spectroscopic techniques.
